Being in the moment

An internet search for “being in the moment” reveals an awful lot of advice from many different points of view, but they all share one thing in common: You.

Any method you use to “be in the moment” obviously involves the Sense of Self being active. However there is a far more spiritually profound technique that’s been known about for millennia, but rarely practiced.

This Brief Guide is based around the art of pausing the Sense of Self. Without your presence  what remains is pure consciousness. Pure consciousness is beyond words, advice, knowledge, understanding, insight, intuition, concepts, beliefs, or moments.

The Indian sage, Patangali, wrote about this about 2000 years ago. To truly “be in the moment” means to go beyond the Self. He called this “stilling the mind” – the essence of spirituality.

By practicing the spiritual enquiry exercise it’s possible to learn the art of pausing the “I”.

When there is no Me or You, no inner world or outer world, there is no “moment”.
